We hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and had an opportunity to celebrate with family and friends. We have a lot to be thankful for this year, especially our wonderful students, our amazing & dedicated staff, our growing alumni network and our generous donor community.
Thanks to your generous support throughout the year, our students have had some incredible experiences this semester, which we wish to share with you and celebrate.
Since we last talked, we had the opportunity to take the entire student body on a field trip to the Kauffman Performing Arts Studio to see a show of the Black Violin and recently took them to Othello the Remix. These experiences truly were amazing opportunities for our students and something they will never forget.
For their first time at our Voter Registration Drive for the Midterm Election, thirteen of our students had the opportunity to register to vote and participate in our democracy. And seventeen individuals (students and staff) helped save a life, eleven for the first time, at our Fall Blood Drive.
Our junior and senior students had the opportunity to visit Coffeyville Community College, Independence Community College and Lincoln University on our monthly college visits. And our students have had the opportunity to receive academic tutoring, participate in debate club, compete in regional Volleyball Tournaments, and promote school spirit as part of the Cheerleading team in some of our brand new after-school activities.
For the first time, DeLaSalle students took the NWEA test to provide teachers a baseline in math, reading, language and science so that students can measure their academic progress throughout the year. And our students continue to increase their MPI scores as we work towards End Of Course Exams.
In short - our students and staff have been working extremely hard to make this an amazing school year.
But none of this would be possible without the support of our greater DeLaSalle Family. So we ask you, during this wonderful season of giving back, to continue to help provide our students the exceptional educational experience that they deserve. Your support will go along way to help ensure that the wonderful programs and academic experiences continue and that our students can achieve their dreams.
We want to let you know that during the month of November, DeLaSalle Education Center will be participating in a fundraising campaign culminating in Giving Tuesday, a national day of philanthropy, on Tuesday November 27th.
So as you continue to celebrate this wonderful season of giving thanks, please consider supporting DeLaSalle Education Center and changing a life of one of our students.
